Sophomore field athlete DJ Horton has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, January 29. It's his first weekly award of the season and the fourth of his career. 

Horton's indoor season picked back up this past weekend, as he hit an NCAA Division II provisional height in the pole vault at the Penn State National Open. He cleared 4.91 meters, which was good for eighth overall at a meet full of Division I athletes. It was also the top height cleared in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference this season.
