Sophomore DJ Horton has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, March 12. 

Horton earned his second career All-American honor this past weekend, as he finished 11th overall in the men’s pole vault at the 2017 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala. He cleared 4.95 meters (16-02.75) in his first attempt, his best height of the day.
 
IUP’s indoor and outdoor pole vault record holder, it was Horton’s third IUP weekly honor of the year and sixth of his career.
