Sophomore soccer forward Mahogany Willis and Freshman field hockey forward Blaise Cugini were named the IUP Athletes of the Week, announced by the IUP Sports Information Office Tuesday afternoon.

This is the third IUP weekly award for Willis and the first career award for Cugini.

Cugini started her IUP career off on a high note, scoring a game-high two goals, and adding assist for a total of five points in the Crimson Hawk's opening day win over Frostberg State.

Playing in her first official game for IUP, Cugini opened the scoring for the Crimson Hawks near the end of the first quarter, before doubling her personal tally in the second period.

The five points by Cugini was the best debut performance by an IUP freshman since Sarah Zielinski scored three goals in an 18-1 route of Newberry in 2013.
