The IUP men's and women's swim teams earned three decisive victories and completed undefeated dual meet seasons following the third and final session of the Crimson Hawk Dual Invite at the John A. Pidgeon Natatorium.
The IUP women recorded wins over Bloomsburg (272-113), Gannon (253-115) and Shippensburg (281-83). The men defeated the Huskies (251-126), Golden Knights (226-151) and Red Raiders (242-137). This marks the first time in five seasons under head coach Chris Villa that IUP has won all of its dual meets.
Jackie Hynson (King George, VA/King George) had two individual event wins and swam a leg on a winning relay team Saturday night. The junior All-American took first in the 200 backstroke (2:09.73) and 200 butterfly (2:11.65) and teamed with Lauren Alshouse (Lancaster/Conestoga Valley), Christina Janovsky and Ashley McAteer (Irwin/Penn-Trafford) to win the 400 freestyle relay (3:40.73).
Adding wins for the women were McAteer in the 100 freestyle (53.17), Ally Long (Frederick, MD/Frederick) in the 1000 freestyle (10:54.13) and Allyson Mitidieri (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.01).
Three men posted wins, with Dylan Mudlo (Kittanning, Pa./Kittanning) taking the 200 butterfly (2:00.51), Rudy da Costa (Durbin, South Africa/Westville) emerging victorious in the 200 backstroke (1:58.04) and Doug McWhorter (Charlottesville, VA/Broadneck) winning the 100 freestyle (48.17).
Finishing in second place for the women were Chanele Molano (Centreville, VA/Westfield) in the 1000 freestyle (11:09.17) and Katie Lehman (Cary, NC/Green Hope) in the 200 backstroke (2:14.54).
The Crimson Hawks are off until Feb. 17-20 when qualifying swimmers compete in the PSAC meet at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg.
