Jackie Hynson Gains All-America Honors by Finishing Sixth in 400 IM

Jackie Hynson is now a three-time All-American in her IUP career

Jackie Hynson (King George, VA/King George) earned a spot on the All-America team for the third time in her career with a sixth-place finish in the 400 individual medley at the NCAA meet on Thursday in San Antonio.

Hynson lowered her own school record in the event with a time of 4:23.16. She was also an All-American by placing third in the 200 butterfly and 200 backstroke last year and still has those two events remaining at this year's meet.

Hynson gained honorable mention All-America recognition on the opening day of the meet by finishing 13th in the 200 IM.

Ashley McAteer (Irwin/Penn-Trafford), the second IUP swimmer at nationals, rejoins Hynson in the pool on Saturday when she competes in the 100 freestyle. McAteer was 13th in the 50 freestyle on Wednesday.
