Raquel Rugani (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour ) was the only hitter that recorded multiple hits as IUP took advantage of opportunities and produced timely hits to earn its seventh straight win a 10-2 five-inning decision over Fairmont State in the finale of the Salem tournament.

IUP found itself trailing 2-1 after Fairmont's Abbey Wilson hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning.

The Crimson Hawks responded with four runs in the top half of the third. Kristen Tunno (Seaford, Va./Grafton) drove home the first run of the inning when belted a double plating Marissa Leslie (Claysburg/Claysburg-Kimmel). Raquel Rugani (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour ) picked up two RBIs with a single, and Mary Ward (Hatfield/North Penn) capped the inning with a run scoring double.

In the fourth inning the IUP scored five times keyed by three doubles from Stephanie Poates, Michelle Bivona (Thorndale, Pa./Coatesville), and Jen Beaver (Chester Springs/Owen J. Roberts). Dee Epinger capped the rally with a two out single that plated two runs.

Erin Holloway (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) gave up just two hit in the final four innings of the game. She improved to 9-1 on the season. Holloway struck out seven batters and walked two in five innings of work.

The Crimson Hawks put their win streak on the line Tuesday when they host Mansfield in a doubleheader starting at 2:30 at South Campus Field.
