Erin Holloway (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) threw a one hit shutout as IUP took game one 5-0 from Lock Haven. The Crimson Hawks dropped game two 2-1 and split the doubleheader Sunday afternoon.

The Crimson Hawks broke a scoreless tie in the opener in the fourth inning on a two-out single by Michelle Bivona (Thorndale, Pa./Coatesville) that plated Megan McCormick (Evans City/Seneca Valley).

IUP added insurance in the fifth when Dee Eppinger (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) hit a two-run homer her third of the season. The Crimson Hawks also scored twice in the seventh when Jen Beaver (Chester Springs/Owen J. Roberts) and McCormick each connected on RBI doubles.

Holloway improved to 13-1 on the season with the complete game shutout with six strikeouts and two walks.

In game two the Crimson Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when Marissa Leslie (Claysburg/Claysburg-Kimmel) singled home Bivona.

The Bald Eagles answered with a run in the bottom of the inning and then scored again in the sixth.

Kelly King (Nazareth/Bethlehem Catholic) was the hard-luck loser allowing two unearned runs on three hits with three strikeouts and no walks.

The loss snapped a school record 14-game win streak. The Crimson Hawks host Bloomsburg Tuesday in a PSAC Central tilt at 2:30.
