CHARLESTON, WV - Emilia Osborne (Leighton Buzzard, United Kingdom/Cedars ) became IUP's all-time leader in career doubles wins with 66 as the 41st-ranked Crimson Hawks cruised past the University of Charleston 9-0 in non-conference women's tennis action on Friday afternoon in West Virginia.

Osborne teamed with Tanya Timko (Cannonsburg, PA/Chartiers-Houston) at the second spot to post an 8-4 win over Sarah Monsheimer and Marieve Edwards to break Jackie Culp's mark.

The success on the day continued for the Crimson Hawks, as Tabtip Louhabanjong (Krabi, Thailand/West Anchorage (AK)) and Katie Eaton (Halesowen, United Kingdom/Haybridge) defeated Marcela Torres and Laura Smith 8-3 at number one and Erika Schnaas (Mexico City, Mexico/Escuela Nacional Preparatoria ) paired with Ranvita Mahto (Burlington, ON/Robert Bateman) at number three for an 8-1 win over Kelsey Hensley and Millika Mali. The win at number one was huge for IUP, as Torres and Smith are ranked sixth in the region while Louhabanjong and Eaton are ninth.

In singles play, Louhabanjong scored another win over a regionally-ranked opponent as she defeated Torres 6-3, 7-5 at number one. The two are back-to-back in the latest rankings, with Louhabanjong 10th and Torres 11th.

It was another battle of top regional players at two, as Timko (14th) defeated Smith (18th) 6-2, 6-3. Eaton also had an easy 6-2, 6-3 win, this one at number three over Monsheimer. That win for Eaton ties her with Culp for second most singles wins in program history with 55.

Abby McCormick (Bethel Park, Pa. /Bethel Park) got IUP's win at number four with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Hensley while Mahto scored a 6-0, 6-2 win over Edwards at number six. That win for Mahto gives her a 19 dual match winning streak.

It was a classic at five, as Schnaas rallied from a first set 6-0 loss to win 7-6 (7-0) in set two and finish off the win with a 10-7 superbreaker win in the third.

The match was also a battle between two of the top teams in the region, with IUP ranked second and Charleston fourth.

The Crimson Hawks (14-6) are back in action tomorrow with another non-conference match against West Virginia State.
