Nick Patton Wraps Up Season at the NCAA Cross Country National Championships

Final Results

SPOKANE, WA – IUP's Nick Patton (Canton/Canton) finished in 113th place overall as he competed in the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championships on Saturday at the Plantes Ferry Athletic Complex in Spokane, Wash.

Patton's time of 32:28.5 was 2:38 behind individual champion Tabor Stevens of Adams State. A total of 248 runners competed in the men's 10K championship race.

The senior transfer from Bloomsburg qualified for the national championships with an eighth place finish at the Atlantic Regional meet two weeks ago. He was one of the top three individuals not on a qualifying team.

He earned all-region honors at that meet and was also an all-conference runner for the Crimson Hawks.

It was the first time an IUP men's runner competed in the Division II national championships since Hillary Mugun finished in 33rd place in 2009.
