LOCK HAVEN, PA – On the strength of three runners who finished in the top 25 overall, the IUP men's cross country team finished in fourth place at the 2013 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championships in Lock Haven on Saturday.

Although the fourth place finish was one spot away from a berth in the national championships, Nick Patton (Canton/Canton) earned an individual spot at the NCAA meet with an eighth place overall finish.

Earning all-region honors with his finish, Patton crossed the line with a time of 31:11.4 in the 10K race, 1:40 off the lead. He heads to the NCAA championships by being one of the top three individuals not on a qualifying team.

Victor Costello (Moscow/North Pocono) earned all-region honors for the second time in his career with a 10th place finish on Saturday. He finished right on Patton's heels with a time of 31:12.7. He finished 12th back in 2011 in being named to his first all-region team.

IUP's third finisher was Clinton Keller (Wernersville/Conrad Weiser), who also earned all-region honors with a 25th place finish, crossing the finish line with a time of 31:53.4.

Alexander Hampel finished 43rd overall with a time of 32:34.6. Tim Lynch (Harleysville, Pa. /Souderton) and Greg Beaudette (Johnston, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) were not far behind, finishing in 53rd and 54th place overall.
