AT A GLANCE
The Crimson Hawks hit the road, traveling back to Erie County for the third time in 12 days to take on the Fighting Scots of Edinboro. IUP enters the game on a two game losing streak, dropping back-to-back matchups with Gannon and California. They've got a record of 14-2, 4-2 in the PSAC West, sitting in third place in the division. The Fighting Scots are 7-9, 0-6 in the PSAC West, in last place in the division. Edinboro is on a three-game losing streak, dropping matchups with Slippery Rock, Mercyhurst and Gannon.
THE SERIES
IUP holds the all-time series advantage with the Fighting Scots, 93-75. They have won the last 10 matchups, including a postseason victory in the first round of the PSACÂ tournament in 2012-13. The Fighting Scots have never won at the Kovalchick Complex and have not won in Indiana since the 2007-08 season.
LAST TIME OUT
The two teams last met in the first round of the PSAC tournament on March 5, 2013. That game required extra time as the Crimson Hawks edged out the Fighting Scots 89-87 in overtime.
Mathis Keita (Thionville, France/Insep) led the way with 25 points, eight rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Marcel Souberbielle (Montevideo, Uruguay/Uruguayan American School) finished with 12 points, six rebounds, one assist and two steals.
MAKE THAT TWO
With the loss to California on Saturday, the once undefeated Crimson Hawks find themselves in the middle of a two-game losing streak. This is the first time since the 2008-09 season that the Crimson Hawks have dropped two straight. That year they fell to the University of Pittsburgh 86-60 and then Alderson Broaddus 62-60. They finished 22-8, 10-4 and went on to the NCAA Atlantic Region Semifinals. With the two losses, the Crimson Hawks dropped 10 spots to No. 15 in the NABC Top 25 Poll.
DEFENSE IS KING
The Crimson Hawks boast the nation's No. 1 scoring defense, giving up just 57.4 points per game. They have never allowed an opponent to score more than 70 points and have held opponents to under 60 points in 11 of their 16 games. The Crimson Hawks also have the PSAC's top three-point field goal percentage defense, allowing opponents to convert on just 25.2 percent of shots from behind the arc. They also have the conference's second ranked field goal defense, holding opponents to a percentage of just 37.9 from the floor.
FIRST CHANCE
Averaging 2.3 steals per game, Jr. G
Devante Chance (Philadelphia, Pa. /Electrical & Technology Charter) leads the conference in takeaways. The point guard has recorded 36 steals in the team's 16 games. He's on pace for a career-high 59, 17 more than last season when he posted 42 in 31 games played.

Marcel Souberbielle (Montevideo, Uruguay/Uruguayan American School) is inching closer to 1,000 points for his career. He sits at 964 career points, just 36 shy of the milestone. With this season's average, he's on pace to hit 1,000 on the road against Pitt-Johnstown on January 29.Â
SCOUTING EDINBORO
Entering the game at the bottom of the PSAC West standings, Edinboro is in the middle of a three-game losing streak, falling to Slippery Rock, Mercyhurst and Gannon. Despite a record of 7-9, 0-6, Edinboro has the PSAC's fifth highest scoring offense, putting up an average of 75.5 points per game. They're led by big man Sr. C Bryan Theriot who averages 18.6 points per game, sixth in the PSAC. He's shooting a conference-leading 63.0 percent from the floor while grabbing 7.9 rebounds and and adding an 83.3 free three percentage.
