AT A GLANCE
The Crimson Hawks continue their eastern roadtrip, heading to Lock Haven to face the Bald Eagles. IUP is rolling to open up the 2013-14 season, winning 11 straight. They're ranked sixth in the nation with a perfect 11-0, 3-0 record. The Bald Eagles enter the game at 7-4, 1-2, riding a three game win streak. Their only two losses in their last seven games have come to powerhouse East Stroudsburg and Gannon.

MOVIN' UP
The Crimson Hawks jumped one spot to No. 6 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll this week. The Hawks take advantage of a loss from the former No. 5 Western Washington to move one step higher.

DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE
The Crimson Hawks boast the nation's No. 1 scoring defense, holding opponents to just 56.9 points per game. IUP has dominated opponents in the 2013-14 season, claiming victories by an average of 16.9 points. No opponent has scored more than 70 against IUP and teams have been held to under 60 points in eight straight games. In the month of December, opponents averaged just 54.4 points per game.

No. 160
Friday's win was the 160th victory for head coach Joe Lombardi in his eight seasons with the Crimson Hawks. He boasts a win percentage of .711 and has claimed three PSAC championships in the last four years.

I'LL TAKE THAT
Leading the PSAC averaging 2.1 steals per game, Jr. G Devante Chance (Philadelphia, Pa. /Electrical & Technology Charter) is helping his team out all over the court. He's grabbed 23 steals in 11 games, with 16 of those coming in the last four games. He set a career high with seven against Kutztown on Dec. 21. The point guard also leads the team in minutes, averaging 34.8 per game, good for third in the conference.

TOUGH TEST
The next four games for the Crimson Hawks will be a true test of their talents. IUP faces Lock Haven, Bloomsburg, Mercyhurst and Gannon in those four games, with the final two counting in their conference record. Following the game against Lock Haven, the Crimson Hawks host Bloomsburg who sit tied for first in the East at 8-3, 4-0. They'll then move on to take on West rivals Mercyhurst and Gannon on the road. Mercyhurst is the only other West school with a perfect conference record, sitting at 5-6, 3-0. Gannon is always a formidable foe for IUP, as they are the only PSAC school in which the series record does not go in favor of the Crimson Hawks. They're 18-18 in their 36 matchups.

ONE STEP CLOSER
With 18 points in the win against Mansfield, Sr. F Marcel Souberbielle (Montevideo, Uruguay/Uruguayan American School) got one step closer to a milestone. He's now just 83 points shy of 1,000 for his career. A four year member of the team, he's on pace to hit that mark against California at the KCAC on Jan. 18.
