AT A GLANCE
The nation's sixth-ranked team returns home after a three-game road trip to host Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East co-leader Bloomsburg. The Crimson Hawks sit atop the PSAC West with a perfect mark of 12-0, 3-0. Bloomsburg (8-4, 4-0) shares the top spot in the East with East Stroudsburg as the only two schools with undefeated conference records. The Huskies fell to Pitt-Johnstown a nailbiter in their last competition. Three of their losses have come to West teams, falling to Pitt-Johnstown, Mercyhurst and Edinboro.

THE SERIES
The Crimson Hawks hold the all-time series lead with the Huskies, 27-25. The two teams last met in the 2012-13 season in which IUP claimed the 60-42 victory. In the teams' last 10 meetings, IUP has posted a 8-2 record and has defeated the Huskies by an average of  16 points per game.

CUTTING IT CLOSE
Friday and Saturday's wins were two of the closest all season for the Crimson Hawks, as they got past Mansfield by five points and Lock Haven by six. Heading into the games, the team was defeating opponents by an average of 18.1 points per game. IUP has defeated nine of its 12 opponents by 13 or more points, with only three victories coming by six points or less.

SUCCESS AGAINST THE EAST
The Crimson Hawks have been successful against PSAC East teams as of late, posting a 24-5 record (both regular season and postseason) against their eastern counterparts over the last four years. In those games they beat their opponents by an average of 11.1 points per game. The five losses have come to Mansfield, Bloomsburg, West Chester, Cheyney and East Stroudsburg. They have not fallen to a PSAC East opponent since losing to East Stroudsburg 57-55 on Jan. 4, 2013.

DEFENSE IS KING
The Crimson Hawks still boast the nation's No. 1 scoring defense, holding opponents to just 57.5 points per game. IUP has never allowed an opponent to score more than 70 points and have held opponents to 60 or fewer points in eight of its last nine games. They're outscoring their competition by an average of 16.0 points per game, second in the conference behind East Stroudsburg (21.4 points per game). The Crimson Hawks have been able to hold opponents to a field goal percentage of just 37.7 percent (second in the PSAC) and a three-point field goal percentage of just 24.9 percent (first in the PSAC).

BEST START OF THE CENTURY
Opening the season with 12 straight wins, IUP is off to its best start since winning 21 straight in 1994-95. The Crimson Hawks are one of only two undefeated teams in the conference, and the only in the West. East Stroudsburg leads the East with a mark of 13-0, 4-0.

SO CLOSE HE CAN TASTE IT
With another stellar performance against Lock Haven Saturday afternoon, Sr. F Marcel Souberbielle (Montevideo, Uruguay/Uruguayan American School) got one step closer to a milestone. He now sits at 943 career points in his four years with IUP, just 57 away from 1,000. He's on pace to hit that 1,000-point mark against California at the KCAC on Jan. 18.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg heads into the KCAC in a tie for first place in the PSAC East with a record of 8-4, 4-0 (East Stroudsburg is 13-0, 4-0). The Huskies have fallen on hard times, losing three of their last five games, all to PSAC West opponents. They are led by R-Sr. G Dontahe Jordan, who averages 15.3 points per game, and leads the conference with 2.3 steals per game. They average 70.6 points per game and give up just 65.3 per game, fourth in the conference. Their defense also forces 15.7 turnovers per game, fifth in the PSAC.
