IUP is on a five-game winning streak, including road wins over East Stroudsburg and West Chester this past weekend. The Wolves have dropped 11 straight games, and are coming off of a streak of three games in three days.
LAST TIME OUTIUP took down a pair of tough PSAC East opponents in East Stroudsburg and West Chester last weekend, winning by a combined 34 points. Sr. G
Devante Chance (Philadelphia, Pa. /Electrical & Technology Charter) averaged 19.5 ppg and had 11 assists on the weekend, including 23 points and 6 assists against ESU.
WHAT'S NEXTThe Crimson Hawks return to PSAC West play with a key road game at Cal on Saturday. The Vulcans come into the week with a 10-4 overall record and are currently tied for 4th in the division with a 6-3 conference record.
IUP IN THE POLLSIUP remained at No. 20 in the latest NABC coaches poll, released on Tuesday. The Crimson Hawks have been ranked in the top 25 of all six coaches polls this season.
REGIONAL RANKINGSIUP holds steady at No. 3 in the latest D2SIDA Atlantic Region rankings. This regional media poll is new this year and is voted on by a group of four sports information directors in each NCAA Division II region.
HOT OFFENSEThe Crimson Hawks scoring has picked up over their recent five-game win streak, averaging 85.2 ppg during that span. They've scored 80+ points four times and are shooting 53.4 pct from the floor and 44.5 pct from 3-point range.

Devante Chance (Philadelphia, Pa. /Electrical & Technology Charter) has led the offensive charge in the past five games, averging a team-high 18.4 ppg while dishing out 30 assists. He's shooting 52.5 pct from the field and has made 13-32 3FGs (40.6 pct).
HEATING UPAlso on a hot streak has been Sr. F
Jeremy Jeffers (Wilson, N.C./Greenfield School). He's averaging 9.0 ppg over his last four contests, including three double-figure scoring games and a season-high 13 points against East Stroudsburg. He's also shooting 60.9 pct (14-23) from the field.
RAINING 3'sThe Crimson Hawks have shot lights out from beyond the arc recently, drilling 49-110 (44.5 pct) in their last five games. Gr. G
Shawn Dyer (Marion, Ohio/Marion Harding) has made 14 over that span and is shooting 45.2 pct while Jr. G
Brandon Norfleet (Virginia Beach, Va. /Landstown) has made 54.5 pct (6-11) and Jeffers has converted 47.4 pct (9-19).
CLUTCH AT THE LINENorfleet has been clutch when it counts at the foul line this year, going a perfect 10-10 in the final 5 minutes of games. Jr. F
Daddy Ugbede (San Mateo, Calif./Serra) has going 8-10 while Chance is a combined 10-14 in the final minutes of action.
DISHING IT OUTThe Crimson Hawks are 2nd in the PSAC and 35th in Division II with 16.8 assists per game. Chance leads one of the top passing teams in the region with 6.1 apg, which leads the league and 16th in Division II.
MOVING UP THE CHARTSOver the weekend, Chance moved up to No. 5 all-time at IUP with 380 career assists. He's now 26 behind Yancey Taylor (1992-95) for 4th and has a shot at Ashton Smith's (2008-12) all-time mark of 456.
SUCCESS AT THE LINEIUP leads the PSAC and is 7th in Division II with an 77.9 FT% this year. Five players convert at least 80 pct from the line, including Sr. F
Jeremy Jeffers (Wilson, N.C./Greenfield School) at 91.7 pct (11-12) and Jr. G
Brandon Norfleet (Virginia Beach, Va. /Landstown) at 90.9 pct (20-22). The only player with enough attempts to qualify, Ugbede ranks 10th in the PSAC with an 80.6 FT% (50-62).
PLAYING DEFENSEThe Crimson Hawks boast arguably the best defense in the PSAC as they're 2nd in the conference and 6th in the nation with just 60.1 points allowed per game. IUP has given up 62 or less points in seven of its 14 games, including a season-low 41 to West Virginia Wesleyan.
STEALING THE SHOWChance is one of IUP's best defenders as he leads the team and is tied for 4th in the PSAC with 29 steals. He's had at least 2 steals in nine of his 14 games this year, including 4 each against Seton Hill and Mansfield.
BLOCK PARTYAlso adding to IUP's defensive prowess is R-Jr. F
Devon Cottrell (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Gateway), who is 2nd in school history with 110 career blocks. He swatted 4 shots against West Chester to give him 26 blocks for the year, 2nd in the PSAC. He's now 52 away from tying IUP's all-time mark of 162 held by Darryl Webb (2007-11).
SCOUTING CHEYNEYThe young Wolves have struggled this season, as three freshmen and one sophomore have combined for 36 starts. The highlight, however, has been Fr. G Kevin Larkin. The lock for PSAC East Freshman of the Year is 3rd in the league with 18.6 ppg and is shooting 52.9 pct from the field and 45.2 pct from 3-point range. He has five 20-point games, including a season-high 25 against Fayetteville State and Clarion. Jr. G Jerrod Johnson adds scoring with 11.2 ppg and eight double-figure scoring games, and is the team's leading rebounder at 5.0 rpg.
