Ray Ofman (Armagh, Pa. /United) ran a team-best 25:29.36 on the men's 8k course, good for 32nd overall. Fellow senior
Alex Hampel (Middletown, Del./Salesianum) followed with a 25:41.60 while sophomore
Austin Cooper (King of Prussia, Pa. /Upper Merion High School ) was right behind him with a 25:44.78. Those times were good for 42nd an 43rd place, respectively.
In the women's 6k, senior
Rachel Magliane (Danville, Pa. /Danville) finished in 37th overall with a 23:17.36. Fellow senior
Riva Walker (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) was 78th with a 24:26.18 and junior
Jenna Lezanic (Indiana, Pa./Marion Center) was 81st with a time of 24:35.75.
The Crimson Hawks ran against tough Division I competition, including Virginia Tech, Florida State, Cincinnati, Kent State, Akron, and Ohio University.
BLACKSBURG, Va. – The IUP men's and women's cross country teams competed in Virginia Tech's Alumni Invitational on Friday night.
The meet included the Virginia Tech alumni race at 5:30 p.m., followed by the women's 6k race at 6 p.m. and the men's race starts at approximately 6:40 p.m.
At the time of print, results from all races were not available.
Teams competing in past Virginia Tech Alumni Invitationals include Florida State, North Carolina, and Ohio University.
