Austin Cooper (King of Prussia, Pa. /Upper Merion ) of the men's cross country team and redshirt senior
Jenna Lezanic (Indiana, Pa./Marion Center) of the women's cross country team have been named the IUP Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 6.
Cooper finished in ninth place at last weekend's Atlantic Region championship by finishing the 10K course in 33:14 and helped the Crimson Hawks to a ninth-place team finish. He qualified for his first career NCAA Championship appearance by finishing as one the top three individual finishers from a team who did not qualify for the national meet.
Lezanic finished in fifth place to lead IUP to a tie for 10th at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region championship. She completed the 6K course in 23:07 and became the first IUP women's cross country runner to qualify for the NCAA Championship since 2003.
