THE GAMES AT A GLANCE
The Crimson Hawks enter a very important home weekend as they host Mansfield and Lock Haven on successive days at Ruth Podbielski Field. IUP will square off against two teams sitting one game ahead in the PSAC Central standings, as the Mountaineers and Bald Eagles each have 5-3 league records. The Crimson Hawks enter the weekend at 4-4 in the Central. First pitch on Friday is 2:30 p.m. while the Lock Haven doubleheader has been moved up to an 11 a.m. start time.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
* IUP will celebrate
Hannah Mercer (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area) and
Amanda Spindler (Brownsburg, Ind./Cathedral) before the Lock Haven games on Senior Day
* The Crimson Hawks carry the momentum of a doubleheader sweep of Pitt-Johnstown on Wednesday, outscoring the Mountain Cats a combined 13-3
* This will be the first meeting between IUP and Mansfield this season, while Lock Haven took a pair of games from the Crimson Hawks two weeks ago (1-0, 1-0)
* Freshman Kassie Keneck is coming off a great day in IUP's wins over UPJ, going a combined 5-for-7 with two doubles, a triple, four runs scored and four runs batted in
* Mansfield is the top hitting team in the PSAC, boasting a .353 batting average and a .504 slugging percentage; They also have a league-best .967 fielding percentage with a team pitching ERA of 2.98
* Still early in the season, IUP is a perfect 4-0 at home this year, outscoring opponents 26-4 at Podbielski Field; Mansfield is 0-2 on the road and Lock Haven is 3-3 away from home
