INDIANA, Pa. - IUP head baseball coach
Anthony Rebyanski has announced the schedule for his program's 2017 Crimson and Gray Fall World Series. The best-of-five series will be played at Owen J. Dougherty Field, the IUP baseball's home facility on IUP's South Campus.
"Competing at a high level and taking nothing for granted is what we instill in our team daily, both on and off the field and in the classroom," said Rebyanski.
"Our World Series event is extremely fun and competitive for our team. It allows our guys to compete against each other at a high level while striving to be crowned Fall World Series champions and earn bragging rights."
The team will take part in its player draft on Wednesday, September 27. Coaching newcomers
Ryan Uhl and
Tayler Sheriff will serve as their respective team's head coach and draft their team on draft night. Uhl will manage Team Gray, while Sheriff will lead Team Crimson.
"Our draft night in simulated such as Major League Baseball's First Year Player Draft," said Rebyanski. "We recognize our picks on our draft board and on social media. For our guys, it's all part of the fun on draft night to get them excited for the series."
