GAMES AT A GLANCE
IUP softball (10-10, 4-4 PSAC Central) will play at home for the first time this year as they host Clarion (4-23, 1-9 PSAC Central) Wednesday afternoon at Ruth Podbielski Field. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 3 p.m. The Crimson Hawks are coming off of a 3-1 road weekend in which they split with Bloomsburg Friday and swept Clarion Saturday. The Golden Eagles have lost 10 straight and have not won in the month of April.

NOTES
>> The Crimson Hawks have had several previous home dates either postponed, canceled or moved to an away site; Tuesday's doubleheader against Seton Hill was set to be the home opener but was canceled due to snow
>> IUP went 9-3 at home last season and is 41-17 (.706) at Podbielski Field since the 2014 season
>> Since 2011, the Crimson Hawks are 30-0 against Clarion and outscore the Golden Eagles by more than 6.5 runs per game
>> IUP swept the doubleheader at Clarion Saturday by scores of 2-0 and 9-2, getting big pitching performances from Lauren Zola (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton-La Salle) and Megan Risinger (Creekside, Pa./Marion Center); The pair combined to strike out 14 batters in 14.0 innings, giving up just seven hits and two earned runs
>> Five different players collected three hits during the Clarion doubleheader, including Bryanna Lonick (Burgettstown, Pa./Burgettstown), Alaina Montgomery (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield), Kassie Kesneck (Houston, Pa./Chartiers-Houston), Amanda Parrish (Dysart, Pa./Altoona) and Kaitlyn Beers (Reynoldsville, Pa./DuBois Area High School); Montgomery and Kesneck both scored three runs
>> Parrish is currently on a 6-game hitting streak, batting .500 with 10 base hits, including two doubles, and seven RBI during that span; She's also reached base in each of the last nine games
