INDIANA, Pa. – IUP head men's basketball coach
Joe Lombardi has finalized his team's 2018-19 non-conference slate of games, which were announced Wednesday morning on IUPAthletics.com.
Seven games were added to IUP's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) mandated schedule to total 28 regular season games for the Crimson Hawks in 2018-19.
The non-conference opponents include Concord and Fairmont State from the Mountain East Conference (MEC), Virginia State and Bowie State from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (CIAA), the University of the Sciences and Le Moyne from the East Region, and Division III Westminster.

The highly competitive slate includes six Division II teams that combined for a 120-61 overall record, six conference tournament appearances, two NCAA tournament berths, and a trip to the Elite Eight.
IUP opens its season with its annual IRMC/Hilton Garden Inn Classic November 9-10 against Concord and Virginia State. Concord advanced to the MEC semifinals a year ago while Virginia State was the No. 1 seed in last year's NCAA Atlantic Regional and finished with a 25-5 record.
Bowie State and Westminster continue the Crimson Hawks' early season homestand on November 14 and 19, respectively. Bowie played in the CIAA semifinals last year and Westminster finished 19-9 out of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
The Crimson Hawks will host East Region powers USciences and Le Moyne for its currently unnamed Thanksgiving weekend invitational November 23-24. USciences advanced to the Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) semifinals while Le Moyne won the Northeast-10 and East Region championships and finished with a 27-7 record.
IUP wraps up its non-conference schedule on December 14 with a trip to Fairmont State. This will be the fourth straight regular season that these two squads have met, with the Crimson Hawks winning 74-59 at home last year.
IUP's conference schedule
The Crimson Hawks open their PSAC schedule the weekend of December 1 with a trip to Kutztown and Millersville. Their home conference opener is the following weekend against Shippensburg. IUP closes out its regular season March 2 at home against Seton Hill.
The 2019 PSAC Championships open March 4 with final four weekend March 9-10 at the highest remaining seed from the Western Division.
