THE WEEKEND AT A GLANCE
The IUP softball team (4-11-1, 0-0 PSAC Central) returns home from its Florida trip to host a weekend at Podbielski Field against Shippensburg (11-7, 0-0 PSAC East) and Mercyhurst (2-17, 0-0 PSAC West). Double headers Saturday and Sunday start at 1 p.m. The Crimson Hawks went 3-10-1 at The Spring Games in Florida with wins over Walsh, Holy Family and Bentley.

NOTES
>> Individual hitting highlights from Florida include Jenna Rhue in an 11-0 win over Holy Family, as she had a pair of doubles and four RBI. Kaitlyn Beers, Renee Wall and Lauren Goetz each scored three runs in that win.
>> Beers had a pair of 3-hit games in Florida against Walsh and Truman State.
>> Beers is leading the Crimson Hawks in hitting so far this year with a .378 batting average (*season stats are missing games against Augustana and Kutztown). She also has team-highs of nine runs scored, 14 hits, six doubles, a .622 slugging percentage and a .479 on-base percentage.
>> Brooklyn Kotula has been a factor in the batters box and in the circle this spring. She's hitting .250 with five doubles and four RBI, and also has a team-best 1.52 ERA and 3-2 record with 21 strikeouts in six appearances.
>> Kotula has three complete games in four starts and hasn't allowed an earned run in three of her appearances.
>> IUP has played Mercyhurst each of the last five seasons and has an 8-2 record during that span. The Crimson Hawks swept a weekend series in Erie last season with wins of 6-2 and 8-0
