Box Score 2 GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Senior
Kaitlyn Beers hit two home runs in a game two victory as the IUP softball team opened its 2020 season by splitting games against West Chester and West Virginia State Saturday afternoon.
The Crimson Hawks fell to West Chester 17-2 before defeating West Virginia State 9-6.
Beers finished the win 2-for-4 with home runs in back-to-back at-bats. Freshman
Margret Russo went 2-for-3 in the victory with a pair of doubles while freshman
Haleigh Zimmerman hit .500 on the day.

Hope Jones went all seven innings and struck out six batters.
In the opener, the Hawks scored both of their runs of the bat of junior
Renee Wall who hit a 2-run homer in the first inning.
