INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP baseball program enters its third weekend of 2021 with a pair of single 9-inning games against division rival Cal U on deck. IUP will host the Vulcans Saturday at Dougherty Field and will travel Sunday afternoon to Wild Things Park. First pitch both days is set for 1 p.m.
Scheduled outside of the mandated conference slate, these games will not be counted in the PSAC standings.
Spectators
IUP Athletics is allowing spectators at outdoor events this spring. Any fans visiting Owen J. Dougherty Field are asked to keep socially distant from each other, participating teams, student-athletes, school officials and other game day personnel. When not able to socially distant, please wear masks.
There is a maximum of 640 individuals allowed at Wild Things Park. The number includes the student-athletes, coaching staff, umpires, and game management staff, in addition to spectators. Spectators are REQUIRED to wear masks at Wild Things Park at all times. Spectators will enter and exit the field following the designated signage near the ticket window. Once capacity is reached, additional guests will NOT be permitted in the stadium.

>> Cal U is 6-3 on the year and have won three straight, including a 17-5 victory over Clarion and a doubleheader sweep of Salem.

Harrison Pontoli enters the weekend hitting in all six games this season. He has three multi-hit outings and is second on the team with a .360 batting average.
>> Pontoli is one of six Crimson Hawks hitting over .300 through six games this spring.

Nick Hess is hitting .333 with a .524 slugging percentage and leads the team with four doubles and five RBI. He and Pontoli are the only Hawks to reach base in all six games.
>> Hess has hit safely in five of IUP's six games and has two multi-hit outings. Two of his doubles came in game two at Slippery Rock.
