INDIANA, Pa. – The 24th-ranked IUP women's tennis team will return to competition for the first time since early February when they face Seton Hill and Carnegie Mellon this weekend. The Crimson Hawks will open divisional play with a road match against the Griffins at Latrobe High School on Saturday afternoon and one day later host the Tartans in their first home action of the spring.

Both IUP and Seton Hill enter the weekend with records of 0-1 while Carnegie Mellon has seen more action this spring, entering with a 4-0 record.

Saturday's match is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start while the Sunday home opener is set for noon.

Notes
>> The Crimson Hawks are ranked No. 24 in the latest ITA Division II national rankings.
>> Already the IUP women's tennis program's all-time winningest coach, Larry Peterson is one team victory shy of milestone win No. 200 in Indiana.
>> IUP has had four matches either canceled or postponed due to COVID-19 concerns since its season opener. Two of those matches have been rescheduled, including at Niagara on April 13 and at Bucknell April 23.
>> The Crimson Hawks have not lost to Seton Hill in Peterson's tenure, with seven wins dating back to the 2010-11 season. Six of those have been as PSAC West foes and by a combined score of 51-1.
>> Just one player on IUP's roster, junior Laura Dunarova, has ever played against Seton Hill. Her wins came as a freshman in March 2019 at the No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles spots.
>> The match between IUP and Carnegie Mellon will be played on Maple Street Courts for the first time. IUP is 1-4 against the Tartans since 2012, with their usual February meetings coming on indoor courts.
>> IUP and Carnegie Mellon, a Division III power, last met in 2018 with the Tartans winning 7-2.
>> The Crimson Hawks currently have 14 more regular season matches scheduled after this weekend, including three more in the month of March.
