INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the first time since the 2017 season, the IUP women's volleyball team was selected to the 2022 NCAA DII Championship field, announced as part of the selection show on Sunday night.
IUP earned the six seed in the Atlantic Region as an at-large bid and faces third-seeded Wheeling in the opening round of the tournament.
Gannon will host the Atlantic Region bracket as the top seed in the region. The Knights knocked off Clarion in five sets in Sunday's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship match. Three teams from the PSAC were named to the eight-team Atlantic Region Championship field.
IUP enters the tournament with a 20-8 overall record under the direction of first-year head coach
Lorelle Hoyer, earning the three seed in the PSAC Western division. The berth in the NCAA Tournament marks the 10th in program history, finishing as regional runners-up in 2001 and 2002.
