ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Jack Buccigross is tied for ninth individually, highlighting the IUP men's golf program's rough opening around at the NCAA Regional Preview tournament at Ravenwood Golf Club on Sunday.

Buccigross shot a 3-over par 75 in the first round, one of 13 golfers to sit in a tie for ninth place in a field of 116. Buccigross sits seven strokes back of clubhouse leader Alex Easthom of West Liberty, who shot a 4-under 68. 

IUP struggled as a team, shooting a 31-over 319 to tie for 18th out of 23 teams. The Hawks are 18 strokes back of team leader Davis & Elkins (301). 

The tournament continues with the second round Monday morning.
