ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio – The IUP men's golf team sits in fifth place after opening their season in day one of the Wheeling Invitational, hosted by Wheeling University at Belmont Hills CC.
The Hawks were led by senior
Alex Swinnerton, who turned in a round of 71 and sits in the top ten individual standings. Freshman
Zaiden Dennis also had a solid round, shooting a 73 with two birdies. Overall, the Crimson Hawks turned in ten birdies, with four of the five team golfers turning in a pair.
Cal (PA) turned in the day's best team score with a par showing, giving them a five-stroke lead over Bluefield State.
IUP will be back on the course tomorrow at 9 AM.
