NORMAN, Okla. — IUP senior Alex Swinnerton added another major honor to his decorated collegiate career Tuesday, earning a spot on the PING All-Atlantic Region Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Swinnerton was one of just 12 golfers recognized across the Atlantic Region and one of six PSAC student-athletes selected to the team following a standout 2025-26 campaign.
The honor caps off one of the most accomplished careers in recent IUP men's golf history.
Over the course of his career, Swinnerton played 125 rounds for the Crimson Hawks and finished with a career scoring average of 73.25.
This season, he once again served as the leader of the IUP lineup, pacing the team in both rounds played and tournaments competed in. Swinnerton appeared in 30 rounds across 11 events and posted a 72.77 scoring average while finishing the season two strokes over par overall.
He consistently placed near the top of tournament leaderboards throughout the year, recording four top-five finishes and six top-10 finishes during the season.
Swinnerton also posted one of the lowest rounds by a Crimson Hawk golfer this season with a 65.
His steady play helped anchor an IUP team that competed in the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional earlier this month at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown.
Swinnerton finished his final collegiate season as one of the top golfers in the Atlantic Region and added another accolade to a career that made him one of the cornerstones of the Crimson Hawks program.
