The Crimson Hawks won the two-day, two-round tournament on Tuesday by shooting a a 32-over 600 in the 13-team field at the Penn Oaks Golf Club, finishing three strokes ahead of West Chester and Goldey-Beacom, which tied for second place with a 603. Millersville was fourth with a 609 and Shepherd finished fifth at 623.

Jack Buccigross led the way for the Crimson Hawks, picking up his first collegiate tournament victory by shooting a 1-over par 143. He finished two strokes ahead of second place Bobby Lugiano (145) of Millersville. Buccigross was tied for the lead through 18 holes at an even-par 71 and shot a 72 in Tuesday's second round.

Buccigross' 143 is tied for the second-lowest score in tournament history (12 years), along with Cal U's Jordan Eck in 2014. Cal U's Austin Smith holds the record with a 142 in 2018.

Including Buccigross, four of IUP's five starters finished in top-20 on the leader board. Shaun Fedor tied for sixth overall with a 7-over 149, six strokes behind Buccigross. Richie Kline was 12th with a 10-over 152 and Colin Walsh tied for 20th with a 14-over 156.

This was IUP's second tournament win of the 2021-22 season, following its PSAC Championship from October. Buccigross is the third IUP player since 2010, and first since Matt Cocorikis in 2019, to win the Cottrell Invitational.
