VICTOR, N.Y. - The IUP men's golf team sits six strokes off the cut after Thursdsay's first round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Region Championships at Ravenwood Golf Club.
The Crimson Hawks shot a 13-over par 301 in the opening round, 12th out of the 20-team tournament. St. Thomas Aquinas leads with a 2-under 286, Charleston is second with a 4-over 292 and Post is third with a 5-over 293. Livingstone and Southern New Hampshire are tied for fourth with a 7-over 295. The top four teams after three rounds earn bids to the 2022 NCAA Division II Championships at TPC Michigan in Detroit.
Richie Kline leads IUP with a 1-under par 71, two strokes off the individual lead and tied for sixth overall out of 108 golfers.
Shaun Fedor had IUP's second best round as he's tied for 19th with a 1-over 73.
IUP's second round begins at 10 a.m. on Friday morning.
