CLEVELAND, Ohio – In a busy day of opening competition at Cleveland State, the Crimson Hawks began a three-day stretch in the pool at the Magnus Cup.
Following the opening day, the IUP women are 10th in the team standings with the men in fifth overall of six teams.
Luke Mikesell posted an NCAA B qualifying mark in the 500 free (4:28.83), finishing second overall. On the women's side,
Tina Cudina was third in the B-Final heat of the 50 breast, logging 13th overall in 29.88.
Luke Ramalho recorded second in the C-Final heat of the 50 breast in 27.54. Teammate
Julien Dampenon qualified in the B-Final with a 15th place finish in 26.69.
The IUP men's 400 medley relay of
Tyler Uhlig,
Athanasios Diamantidis,
Andrew Taylor and
Luke Scoboria nabbed fifth with a collective time of 3:23.31.
Rachel Blackburn qualified for the C-Final of the 50 breast, while
Kyla Kramer swam in the final heat of the finals in the event.
Alexander Roth was 14th overall in the 200 IM (1:55.09) with
Stephen Goff posting 16th in the 50 free (21.35).

Day two at the Magnus Cup begins Friday at 9 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m.
