LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Crimson Hawk Karolin Kirchtag was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
This is the third time this season that the Crimson Hawks have been named to this honor, Joanna Strakla was previously named the Women's Western Tennis Athlete of the Week March 27 and April 7.
This past week, Kirchtag was a huge key to the Hawks success. She posted a 6-0 record along with a 3-0 record in both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.
The Austria native took her first wins of the week over Clarion's Davan Lion in No. 1 singles (6-3, 6-0). On Friday, she won (6-0, 6-2) over the Vulcan's Diletta Maria Mungo. Kirchtag finished out the week with a (7-6, 6-2) win over West Liberty's Emma Arnal.
In the No. 1 doubles spot, Karolin and doubles partner Katy Graydon swept up three wins with a 6-2 win over Clarion's Devan Lion and Alexis Strouse. Followed by a 6-0 victory over Cal U (PA) Leandra Guildimann and Diletta Maria Mungo. The week concluded Sunday with another triumph over West Liberty's Emma Arnal and Gemma Cliffe (6-1).

The Crimson Hawks are slated next for the PSAC Championship tournament with the number one western seed April 20, 22-24. The championship site is to be announced.
