ORLANDO, Fla. – The IUP women's tennis team is set to play in the first round of the NCAA Round of 16, taking place from May 12-16. This year the host site will be USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
IUP snagged a spot in the championships after winning their regional bracket by defeating Slippery Rock 4-1. IUP was placed as the 11
th seed among 15 other teams.
The finals consist of 16 teams who have won their regionals bracket across the U.S. During the first round, IUP will be playing at 4:00 PM. If the Hawks advance, quarterfinal round action will be played at 7:00 PM on May 13, followed by the semifinals at 4:00 PM on May 15 and the championship will be at 6:00 PM on May 16.
IUP will be up against Wayne St. (Mich.), seeded sixth.

IUP IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
- The Crimson Hawks are making the program's 15th NCAA Tournament appearance this season.
- 2023 marks IUP's 10th time among the NCAA's final 16 teams; made eight straight trips to the Round of 16 from 2011-18.
- IUP is 23-14 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
- This marks the 11th NCAA DII Championship appearances over the last 13 years for the Crimson Hawks.

- IUP won its third straight PSAC Championship with 4-1 against Slippery Rock on April 23
- Karolin Kirchtag is 12th in program history in combined singles wins (60); 11th in program history in combined wins (122)
- Joanna Stralka and Natalie Kmoskova are part of IUP's winningest doubles pairing this season, going 18-1 overall, including 16-0 at the No. 2 flight
- Natalie Kmoskova combined for a team-high of 45 wins this season between singles and doubles.
