DAVIS, W.Va. – The IUP men's golf team finished second in the team standings, while sophomore
Alex Swinnerton won medalist honors for the second time this season, earning the victory by one shot at the Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational hosted by Davis & Elkins.
Swinnerton carded a 54-hole score of -13 behind rounds of 70, 64 and 69. He finished one shot ahead of Charleston duo Rory Gorman and William Carestam. Charleston (W.Va.) took the team title with a combined mark of 43 under par over the 54 holes, finishing ahead of IUP (-31) and Gannon (-23).
Sophomore
Guillermo Salazar logged fourth overall on the individual leaderboard with a combined 11 under par and rounds of 66, 69 and 70.
Shaun Fedor finished just outside the top 10, tied for 11th overall (-7).
Sophomore
John Olsen slotted tied for 35th with an even-par score through three rounds, posting totals of 71, 75 and 70.
Cameron Gerue closed out the IUP lineup in a tie for 79th, carding rounds of 80, 76 and 71.
