LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- The IUP cross country program competed at the 2024 NCAA Atlantic Region Championship Saturday morning at Lock Haven's West Branch XC Course.

IUP men's cross country finished sixth overall in the 10000 meter with a score of 208.
Â
IUP had two top 25 finishers being,
Dan Gibney who placed 13th overall (30:43.4) and
Mike Formica who placed 18th (31:01.6). Both earned USTFCCCA All-Atlantic Region honors.
Â
Joel Beckwith (31:51.2) and
Nate Kociela (32:06.7) were close behind placing 39th and 49th.
Â
The women's cross country team placed 15th overall among 22 teams, with 416 points.
Â
Hannah Weaver placed 39th (22:19.4) among 160 participants and first for the Hawks. The other top finishers for the Hawks were
Julia O'Brien who placed 94th (23:24.3) and
Lexi Lovrich at 95th (23:26.7).
