INDIANA, Pa. – Seven IUP track and field and cross country student-athletes were recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom and in competition after being named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The CSC announced the men's and women's track and field and cross country Academic All-District teams on June 23. Four women and three men represented the Crimson Hawks.
Representing the women's team were Zaya McCune, Hedda Folkhage, Bella Brozeski and Renee Simmonds. To earn Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 while ranking among the top 50 in the region in one of their respective events.
McCune, a marketing major with a 3.50 GPA, excelled as one of IUP's distance runners. Folkhage, a management major with a 3.66 GPA, competed in the 100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles and 60-meter hurdles throughout the season.
Brozeski, who is pursuing a degree in Safety, Health and Environmental Applied Science, carries a 3.65 GPA. She earned All-PSAC honors after finishing runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles at the conference outdoor championships.
Simmonds concluded one of the most versatile careers in program history. The mathematics education major compiled a 3.66 GPA while competing in 14 different events during her four-year career, highlighted by her success in the heptathlon and other combined events.
On the men's side, Nate Kociela, Quintin Robison and Steve Combary earned Academic All-District recognition.
Kociela, an economics major with a 3.59 GPA, ranked among the region's top performers in cross country, the 5,000-meter run and the 10,000-meter run. Robinson, a finance major with a 3.55 GPA, was one of IUP's top pole vaulters throughout the season. Combary, a computer science major carrying a 3.69 GPA, earned his regional qualifying marks in the 60-meter hurdles.
The CSC Academic All-District selections conclude the 2025-26 academic year award cycle for IUP Athletics.
