GENEVA, Ohio – The IUP swimming team earned two All-American honors with
Athanasios Diamantidis and
Kasha Stokes both recording school records on Friday as part of the 2024 NCAA DII Swimming Championships, held at the SPIRE Institute.
Luke Mikesell opened the prelims session in the 500 free, finishing 25th in the event with 4:30.27. Stokes and Diamantidis went on to set school records in their prelim events, advancing to Friday night's finals session.
In the prelims, Stokes finished 12th in the 100 back with a school record mark of 54.90 She finished 13th in the finals (55.22), picking up All-America Honorable Mention laurels as a freshman.
Diamantidis set a pair of school records in the 100 breast on Friday for the Crimson Hawks. He posted 16th in the 100 breast prelims in 53.94, improving on his time in the finals. Diamantidis shaved his time down to 53.87, another school record, good for 10th overall.
