MONROE, N.C. – Led by under-par second rounds from Alex Swinnerton and Aidan LeBlanc, the IUP men's golf team is in seventh in the team standings following a busy 36-hole day at Wingate's Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate.
 
Swinnerton is tied for 17th after the opening day of the par-72 Rolling Hills Country Club, carding rounds of 74 and 71 (-1). Putting together a consistent round as a team, IUP is tied for second in the field with 112 combined pars.
 
Swinnerton started on the seventh hole for his second round, responding from a bogey on hole 11 with a birdie on the par-four 12th hole. He also birdied a pair of par fives in the second round, coming on holes 17 and six to finish the day. He was one of just 13 players in the field to play the par four holes at even par or better.
 
John Olsen ranks tied for 32nd after a pair of solid rounds. He posted a one-over 73 to start the day before logging a 75 in the second round. Olsen finished his second round at two under over the final six holes.
 
LeBlanc settled in nicely during the second set of 18 holes for the Hawks with a one-under 71, matching Swinnerton for the low round of the day across the IUP lineup. All three of LeBlanc's second round birdies came on par four holes. LeBlanc's first birdie of the second round came sandwiched around a pair of bogeys, later adding birdies on hole 18 and hole four.
 
Shaun Fedor slots tied for 53rd with rounds of 74 and 78 on Monday. Guillermo Salazar rounding out the IUP scoring lineup in a tie for 77th after rounds of 75 and 82. Competing as individuals, Cameron Gerue is tied for 82nd and Jon Vinge is 93rd on the leaderboard.
