PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The IUP outdoor track & field teams put together a solid two-day stretch at the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Invitational, held Friday and Saturday in Pittsburgh.
In total, IUP posted first place in five events and recorded 11 total Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks over the weekend.
IUP claimed victory in both the men's and women's 200m with
Justin Egizio (22.05) and
Cahsia Page (25.56) winning their races with PSAC qualifying marks.
Egizio also posted a PSAC standard in the 400m, finishing with a runner-up second-place time of 48.70. Egizio finished behind teammate
Kendall Branan, who won the event with a PSAC standard time of 48.63. Meanwhile, Page logged third in the women's 100m in 12.55.
IUP also had success in the field over the weekend with
SahBri Hill collecting first place in the men's triple jump (14.26m; PSAC standard) and
Nataiah Robertson winning the women's long jump (5.15m).
Ella Evans posted a PSAC standard with a second-place finish in the women's high jump in 1.58m.
IUP had three runners in the top 10 of the men's 400m as
Owen Putt posted ninth (50.80).
Cassidy Kline logged second overall in the 400m hurdles with a strong time of 1:05.45, a PSAC mark.
Bella Brozeski added a PSAC standard of her own in the event with a fifth-place time of 1:07.10.
The IUP distance ground recorded a slew of runner-up finishes, including
Mike Formica in the 3,000m (3:55.58; PSAC standard),
Dan Gibney in the 3,000m Steeple (9:27.89; PSAC standard) and
Marco Cardone in the 3,000m (8:50.88) and
Lexi Lovrich in the women's 3,000m (11:12.54).
