GOLDSBORO, N.C. – The IUP men's golf team collectively lowered their scores in the second round of The Trojan, hosted by Mount Olive on Monday.
Monday's action consisted of 36 total holes at the Walnut Creek Country Club. IUP jumped two spots in the team standings to seventh overall with a combined 36-hole total of 603.
Barton holds a commanding lead with a team score of -19, led by Ryan Jahr at -11.
Shuffling the lineup for the event,
Cameron Gerue paces the IUP lineup after the opening day of action with a 36-hole total of 147. Gerue opened the day up with a three-over 75 before notching an even-par 72.
Gerue carded six total birdies in the second round, playing the final seven holes at two under.
Shaun Fedor is tied for 25th overall with rounds of 77 and 73 (+1). Fedor battled past three consecutive bogeys on the back nine, posting a pair of birdies over the final four holes.
Guillermo Salazar is tied for 33rd on the individual leaderboard after rounds of 77 and 75 on Monday.
John Olsen, competing as an individual fired a one-over 73 over the second set of 18 holes, including a stretch of eight straight pars.
Alex Swinnerton is also tied for 38th following rounds of 78 and 76.
Jon Vinge rounded out the IUP lineup in a tie for 44th, playing the par five holes at a combined -4.
