COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The IUP Crimson Hawks field hockey team earned a national ranking Tuesday, moving from unranked to No. 9 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll ahead of its matchup with No. 8 Lander.
IUP has posted three shutouts in its first five games, outscoring opponents 15-5 and allowing its first goal late in the opening period of its fourth game of the season.
The Crimson Hawks recorded double-digit shots in each of their first three games, including a 41-shot effort against D'Youville in which they did not allow a single shot.
Senior
Jess Davidson leads the offense with five goals and two assists for 12 points. Junior
Lilly Fringer has three goals, and
Maura van de Plas has added two.
Junior goalkeeper
Celeste Pagliaroli has made 11 saves while allowing five goals. She has faced 18 shots in three victories and has posted three shutouts.
