COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Academic honors continued for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania field hockey program as four student-athletes were named Scholars of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
The distinction recognizes undergraduate field hockey players who achieve a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.90 through the fall semester. A total of 144 student-athletes from programs across the country earned the honor this year, highlighting both academic achievement and commitment to success beyond competition.
Representing the Crimson Hawks on the list were Lucia Cisilino, Mia Gerick, Celeste Pagliaroli and Sydney Schmouder. Each played a role in IUP's program while maintaining exceptional performance in the classroom.
The recognition adds to a strong academic tradition for the Crimson Hawks, who have consistently placed multiple players on NFHCA academic honor rolls in recent seasons. The award reflects the program's emphasis on balancing athletic competition with academic responsibility.
IUP field hockey continues offseason preparation ahead of the upcoming season while building on both its athletic and academic accomplishments.
