York, Pennsylvania — The final day of the PSAC Swimming Championships ended in fitting fashion for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, as Kasha Stokes captured the 200-yard backstroke title and posted an NCAA B cut to highlight Saturday's performances.
Stokes' championship swim added to an impressive meet for the Crimson Hawks and helped punctuate a strong overall showing. On the women's side, IUP secured the team runner-up trophy, while Gem Crittenden was named Meet Most Outstanding Swimmer after another dominant week in the pool.
IUP recorded 11 top-eight finishes on the final day. Along with Stokes' victory in the 200 backstroke, the Hawks added another NCAA B standard when Tyler Uhlig achieved the mark in the men's 1,650-yard freestyle.
In other individual events, Kayla Kramwe earned a third-place finish in the 200 breaststroke, while Alexander Roth finished runner-up in the men's 200 backstroke. The men's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Stephen Goff, Nicholas Vaow, Trent Powell and Roth added to the podium finishes with a third-place showing.
With the conference meet complete, the Crimson Hawks now shift their focus to the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships, scheduled for March 10-14 in Evansville, Indiana.
