Redshirt freshman football player Shannon Jackson was named an IUP Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 1. Jackson also earns his first career weekly honor after a career day in IUP's 28-14 win at Clarion on Saturday. In his first career start, Jackson rushed 33 times for 167 yards and two touchdowns, all season-highs.
 
Jackson had six runs of 10-plus yards, including a 17-yard score to seal the victory with 3:10 left in the fourth quarter. He becomes the fifth IUP player to rush for 100 yards in a game this season and is now third on the team with 267 yards and four touchdowns this year.
