Field hockey senior goalie Alyssa Lerda has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, September 18. This is Lerda's first career IUP weekly honor.

Lerda was a huge reason for the Crimson Hawks' 2-1 week, giving up just two combined goals and finishing with eight saves over 214 minutes in the cage. She allowed one overtime goal to No. 2 ranked Shippensburg, a team that came into the contest averaging nearly four goals per game. She then gave up one score in a 2-1 upset win over No. 3 ranked Bloomsburg, and kept Bellarmine scoreless in a 2-0 victory on Sunday.

Lerda is fourth in the PSAC with a 0.785 goals against average and fifth with an 0.800 save percentage.
