Sophomore Jacobo Diaz has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, March 12. 

Diaz averaged 14.5 points and 11.5 rebounds as IUP men’s basketball advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championships this past weekend. The forward posted a double-double (12 points, 14 rebounds) against Kutztown, and scored 17 points in a loss to top-seeded Fairmont State on Sunday night. Diaz also shot 65.0 percent from the field, making 13-of-20 shots.
 
He was also named first team All-Atlantic Region on Monday, as this is his fifth IUP weekly award of the season.
