Junior swimmer Nicole Smith was named an IUP Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the IUP Sports Information Office Monday, Feb. 26. 

Smith tallied individual PSAC titles in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events, also coming in fourth in the 500 free and fifth in the 50 free. Those four events earned Smith 114 points and were all NCAA B cut qualifying times. 

Smith's time of 1:47.90 in the 200 free broke her own school record and was just .20 seconds away from the PSAC Championship meet record of 1:47.20 set four years ago. 

This is Smith's second IUP weekly honor of the season.
