Senior quarterback Quinton Maxwell and junior cross country runner Sam Lenze were named IUP Athletes of the Week, announced by the sports information office Monday afternoon.
 
This is Maxwell's second straight IUP weekly award and the third career honor for Lenze.
 
Maxwell helped lead the No. 24 Crimson Hawks during their 77-14 home rout of Lock Haven Saturday, quarterbacking the offense to 42 first half points. Maxwell completed 14-of-16 passes (87.5 pct.) for 200 yards and three touchdowns, adding another 26 yards and a score on the ground.
 
It was Maxwell's second straight 4-touchdown game as the Crimson Hawks totaled 608 yards (389 passing) and 11 touchdowns in the win.
 
Lenze finished in 22nd overall out of nearly 400 runners at Saturday's LHU Invitational with a time of 26:01.6 on the 8K course. His time set a new career-best as he competed alongside top runners from Gannon, Lock Haven, Shippensburg and Bucknell.
 
Lenze helped the Crimson Hawks finish fifth overall out of 22 teams in their second race of the season.
