Casey McGowan scored her first career hat trick to help lead IUP to a 3-2 victory over Slippery Rock in field hockey action on Wednesday night. McGowan's goals came consecutively in the game, giving the Crimson Hawks a 3-1 lead midway through the second half, and leading them to their second consecutive victory. McGowan followed that up by adding another goal in the team's 4-2 loss to No. 1 Shippensburg, scoring in the 25th minute on a penalty stroke. The defender now has 5 goals and 10 points on the season.
