Crimson Hawks Have Strong Showing at Lake Erie Invitational

The indoor track and field teams had 12 PSAC qualifiers on both the men's and women's teams including two PSAC leaders.

Brandon Ford took first in the triple jump with a PSAC leading 14.4 meters in the triple jump and Steve Wainwright recorded a PSAC best 1:54.10 time in a fourth place finish in the 800 meter run.

Leander Toney took third in the high jump with a height of 1.95 meters. Clint Keller also grabbed a top eight finish in the 3000 meter run in a time of 8:37 good for sixth place.

The men picked up a pair of seventh place finishes from Nefee Harris and Victor Costello. Harris posted a time of 22.2 in the 200 meter dash and Costello finished the 800 meter run in a time of 1:56.84.

Laurie Ajavon led the way for the women's team with a second place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.3 meters and a triple jump of 10.58 meters good for a third place finish.

Briana Liebold finished right behind Ajavon with a long jump of 5.12 meters and Liz Tepsic took fourth in the triple jump with a 10.34 meters.

The Crimson Hawks got a fifth place finish from Chelsea O'Hanlon with a 1.55 meter high jump. Alyssa Taddie ran a 5:18.39 in the mile run good for seventh place.

Ayanna LeBlanc also took seventh place with a 12.49 meter throw in the shot put. Laura Nientimp rounded out the top eight finishers with an eighth place finish in the 60 meter dash in a time of 8.04.

The Crimson Hawks are back in action Friday when they travel to the Oberlin Invitational.
